Originally by: Karlemgne Honestly? Low-sec is nothing. I was outlawed and living in low-sec since day three in game, and that's back when you started with 60k skill points.
Mostly everything in low-sec can be countered (accept for camps with heavy dictors these days).
If you are smart enough you'll never get podded--there are no bubbles in low-sec. It is a different game. You've got watch local, and use your scanner, but its not too difficult.
Eventually, when you do get to low-sec, you'll wonder what you were so worried about.

I want to amend my statement now that you've quoted me. If you're smart you'll ALMOST never get podded. Baring lag, other desynch issues, or panic. You should get your pod out every time.

Well, that goes without saying

Originally by: Tzar'rim The trick is to know what to do and what NOT to do, here's some do's and don'ts, if you have more questions just find me ingame.
- DON'T bring big ships into low sec, it doesn't deterr anyone, it just makes you a bigger fatter and slower target.
I love newbs in battleships. They make my killboard look good
Quote: - DO make sure your clone is updated
- DO use a frigate with an MWD
I hate frigates, especially if they're aligned
Quote: - DO make safespots along the way but understand that even there you're not safe - DO understand how to use the scanner properly - DON'T assume anything. If you don't know, then find out before you act. - DO practise the "gate game" (convo me for explanation)
If you're in a ship that can take some damage. Wait on the gate for them to engage you, then jump through. They won't be able to jump for 60 seconds.
Quote: - DO expect to lose a bunch of ships but write them off as a learning fee

Quote: When you're comfortable in low sec then you can do some ratting in relative safety. It makes you some cash and you get used to being alert and on your toes :)
Not.. really. Go to null sec for cash. Same rules apply, but make sure to use you're map.
